Rockstar Games Red Dead Revolver takes the player deep into the Old West the ONLY way a Rockstar Game could. Rockstar’s responsible for other great hits such as: Max Payne, Thrasher: Skate and Destroy and the Grand Theft Auto series. The story is about a guy named Red. His family is shot to death by a group of bandits and he finds himself looking for revenge. Along his travels in the game, he is introduced to a laundry list of characters like the British gangster: Jack Swift, Annie Stoakes, and Shadow Wolf. On this blood filled journey, Red also finds himself in the middle of many gun fights with some fierce ass western bandits. You have the choice of many weapons from pistols to rifles and even knives and snake venom oil. USE ALL OF THIS TO YOUR ADVANTAGE!!! There are about 30 weapons in the game to choose from. There are a couple of revolutionary aspects to the gameplay like the “Dead eye” feature. The dead eye, kind of reminiscent of Max Payne’s “Bullet time”. This mode slows everything down and allows the player to take precise shots to anywhere on the body of an enemy depending on the amount of bullets you have in your gun. (Look below for a picture). Another introduced by the game is the shoot-out draw mode. The player can have a gun drawing match with 1 or more enemy during certain cut scenes. Very reminiscent of old western flicks and Bonanza. (HAHA) Red draws his pistol and you have to precisely aim six shots at your target(s) with the choice of three cross-hair recticles. Yellow being least deadly, red being critical hit and Red with closer cross hairs being very critical. My only beef with the game was its Multiplayer. It is fun, but it is not very well developed. It has nice concepts, but they are not played out fully. Overall, Red Dead Revolver is a great game with its fair share of action as expected from Rockstar Games.
